Who are UKOUG?
History
Make your case
If you've attended a UK Oracle User Group conference before, you know it's the most important educational and networking event in the UK of the year for Oracle technologists, customers, and partners. UKOUG 2011 is the UK's largest Oracle Technology & E-Business Suite conference and the only conference that goes this deep and wide with Oracle technology, providing hundreds of sessions and user stories geared toward helping your company get better results with the technology it has—and plan strategically for the technology it will need to keep ahead of the competition in the years to come.
So it should be easy to justify the cost of attendance. The new skills, new connections, and new ideas for extending the value of your company's IT investments more than justify the time and expense required for three days of unparalleled learning. Need a concrete document to make the case to management? Download the justification letter below, customize it for your particular company and strategic objectives, submit the letter to your management, and prepare to pack your bags for UKOUG2011.

It’s great to be a part of one of the world’s best Oracle conferences." Carl Dudley, The Oracle Professor of Database Technology, University of Wolverhampton

Our presence at UKOUG Conference 2011 demonstrates Oracle’s commitment to helping its customers get the most from their engineered systems. We will be bringing speakers fresh from OpenWorld 2011 to deliver to UK customers the latest product news, developments, demos and more." David Callaghan, Senior Vice President for Oracle UK
“I first became involved with UKOUG in 1996 – right away I realised the group had its finger on the pulse of what users actually want from their Oracle investments. Presenting at the conference has given me a chance to share what we’ve learnt through hard experience, helping others to tread an easier path.” Dev Nayak, DSP Managed Services
Agenda
The process of putting together the agenda starts in April with the 'call for papers', where we ask members of the Oracle community to submit a presentation idea in the form of an abstract. These abstracts are then voted upon by a group of over 60 judges, and their results are fed to a Conference agenda committee with representatives for each of the main topic areas. It is the Conference agenda committee's responsibility to produce an agenda that will give most value to our attendees. The chosen speakers are then confirmed in the summer and we are ready to publish the agenda in September.
UKOUG2011 will run over three days with a choice of more than 250 presentations covering a spectrum of topics critical for the Oracle Technology & E-Business Suite user.
The UKOUG2011 exhibition has room for over 80 stands. There will be a host of Oracle Partners showcasing a variety of Oracle related products and services for the Oracle Technology & E-Business Suite users, if you are thinking of doing some Oracle supplier research this is the place to do it.
Interested in exhibiting? to book your stand space, please visit the exhibition page for more details.
We are pleased to host several social events over Monday and Tuesday evenings. These are free to conference delegates with free food and drinks available. They provide a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and expand your network of contacts.
Monday evening:
Exhibition Welcome Drinks -19:45 - 20:45, exhibition hall. Kicking off our social programme, the Welcome Drinks gives all the opportunity to explore the exhibition and meet our many Oracle Partners with a drink or two in hand. Our exhibitors will have an allowance of complimentary drinks on their stands which they will hand out to attendees who visit them. Held in the exhibition hall, the drinks hour will be a relaxed transition from the day’s activities to the Focus Pubs evening. There are also many great prizes to be won.
Focus Pubs & Inspiring Presentation Awards - 20:45 - 23:00, Hall 4. Eat, drink, discuss and recognise talent! What better environment to discuss your interests with like-minded people than in an old-fashioned British pub? UKOUG will be transforming Hall 4 into an English country pub where traditional pub grub and drinks will be on offer. The larger-than-life theme spills over into the pub games with giant Jenga and dominoes as well as skittles to help break the ice or to bring out your competitive streak. This will be a great time to meet our speakers and the UKOUG Technology & E-Business Suite volunteers who put the agenda's together for our Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings throughout the year. Also taking place during the evening is the second Inspiring Presentation Awards which recognise our conference speakers. Scores are based on delegate feedback, so if you have presented for us the last year you could be in with a chance of winning. Cash bar available.
Tuesday evening:
Masquerade Ball - 20:00 - late, Hall 4. It will be hard to top the first night’s activities but here at UKOUG we like a challenge! Without giving too much away, the masked ball is set in 17th Century Venice. Come along to be enchanted by the theatrical decor and specialist entertainers and to dance the night away with a DJ playing music from 60s -00s. Food will be provided and complimentay drinks will be available for the first hour, followed by a cash bar. Masks will be provided, but feel free to bring your own along. This is set to be fantastically fun and we look forward to enjoying it with you!
