| Presentation abstract: | An instance, featuring in the Play of Data Guard Configuration, can and will play many roles. First of all there is the Primary Instance. Then there are the Standby, Read Only and FAL instance roles to play. All of this can get very confusing in a complex Data Guard configuration, especially with more than one Standby involved. To worsen things all instances can play all the roles. This mini tutorial will help you to set up and monitor your HA deployment and how to perform switchovers and failovers in a rapid and controlled manner. Illustrations and live demonstrations are included. |
