Presentation abstract: This first part of this session covers how .NET developers can optimize data access to the Oracle database. It discusses techniques for retrieving data and making updates more efficient comparing different use cases. These techniques include data access features, such as statement caching, batching, and array parameters available to .NET developers using Oracle. In addition, this session discusses best practices and gotchas for mid-tier deployment.

The second part of this session focuses on leveraging PL/SQL from the point of view of a .NET developer and demonstrates the newly integrated PL/SQL debugger within Visual Studio. Developers will learn how to use the debugger and ways to leverage PL/SQL constructs, such as REF Cursors and associative arrays from within .NET.
