4.0  Guidelines to the Layout of Presentation Slides

4.1  Please put your name and presentation title on the first slide
4.2  Use a minimum of text on a slide. As a rule of thumb for legibility, the maximum should be 30 characters per line and 10 lines per slide. The fewer the better
4.3  Graphs often speak louder than words
4.4  Use lower case characters instead of CAPITALS, but make them big and bold
4.5  Avoid RED, as it tends to hide rather than highlight, yellow is a much better colour for highlighting
4.6  Avoid dark coloured backgrounds to your slides with black text – your information will not be clear to the audience.
4.7  Avoid "screen dumps" for the slides being uploaded to the UKOUG 2007 Website, as this will effect the file size and the download time for the delegates
4.8  Recommended lowest font size is 18
4.9  All bibliographical references should be listed in alphabetical order at the end of the presentation
4.10 The PowerPoint slides should be completed and uploaded to the UKOUG 2007 web site by Monday 26th November 2007
