Presentation abstract: is a 2 hour masterclass with plenty of demonstrations and examples. This is a completely new presentation and not the one delivered last year. The presentation starts with an overview of Oracle security and what the issues are, how hackers steal data and compromise databases. The main body of the presentation then explores how one would go about conducting a security audit of an Oracle database including plenty of examples of what to look for, how to look for it and what tools can help. The presentation concludes with a discussion of the problems how to fix and secure the database along with some guidelines on hardening Oracle. The presentation includes plenty of technical content and examples of research and hacking. Not many people in the world know how to audit an Oracle database and few have real world experience like Pete in auditing many real systems.
