Presentation Title: Deploying a Dimensional Model on the Oracle Database
Speaker: Mr Stewart Bryson
Company: Rittman Mead Consulting
Co-presenter:
Presentation abstract: So you've been working with the Oracle Database for a while, but now the BI team wants to deploy a new dimensional model for enterprise reporting. While the logical design will determine a portion of the success of the data warehouse, the physical implementation of this model on Oracle may seem confusing to DBA's with little or no experience with a dimensional model. This presentation will address the differences in dimension tables and fact tables, and how those differences affect the proper physical properties of the tables, including: table organization, partitioning, compression, indexing, star transformation, and summary management.
