Presentation abstract: This presentation will start with a brief overview of connection management in RAC and then we will focus on workload management including exploiting Cluster Services, connection load balancing and run-time workload balancing. Finally, we will see how to create your own run-time workload management using standard Load Balancing Advisory framework. During presentation we will go through demonstrations using RAC cluster illustrating internals of workload management and how to monitor it. Live demos will simplify understanding of this rather complex topic.

Having joined Pythian in 2006 in Canada, Alex has now moved to Australia to head regional office as Vice-President, Pythian East Asia Pacific. Prior to that Alex was working in Germany building and supporting highly available travel reservations solutions for Amadeus.
