Speaker biography: Guus is senior principal product manager UML modeling and Web services tools, focusing on making J2EE Webservice and SOA development more productive and scalable through visual tools, wizards and coding facilities. He works primarily on the JDeveloper product within the Applications Development Tools division at Oracle, where he is responsible for gathering requirements from internal and external customers and planning future functionality. After joining Oracle in 1994 from Cap Gemini, he worked in the Designer product team, before joining the JDeveloper group. Guus is Oracle's representative on UML at the Object Management Group (OMG) since 1996, and has served as chair of the Task Forces responsible for developing UML 1.0 and 2.0. Guus holds a a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Leiden, The Netherlands.
